De cd 'Dedicatoria' is een cd die gehoord mag worden. Het spel van Westerhof en de Haan doet denken aan het illustere gelegenheidsduo Julian Bream en John Williams en dat mag in dit geval als een groot compliment gelden. Ze weten in werken als Danza española op.37/5 van Granados, het ook bij gitaarliefhebbers geliefde Sevilla uit de Suite española van Albéniz en een meesterlijk langzame Träumerei uit Schumanns Kinderszenen de opwinding over de schoonheid van deze werken over te brengen en de luisteraar een paar volkomen gelukkige momenten te bezorgen.

…and the duo’s hermetic unity of phrase gave it’s dense, quicksilver patterns the sharpness of a computerimage without ever losing the sense that the music was being played by human hands (about Milton Babbitt’s ‘Soli e Duettini’). Their interplay here was nothing short of astonishing, the music seeming to come out of a single entity – one with enough hands to play all the parts but only one mind, one heart, one sensibility (about Astor Piazzolla’s ‘Tango Suite’).

De twee gitaristen zijn ideale ambassadeurs voor perfectie in ensemblespel. Ze nemen de tijd voor diepgang en expressie, zodat extra beleving klonk in 'Mallorca' van Albéniz en 'Verano Porteño' van Piazzolla.

Een lied van Granados, de cyclus van Poulenc en het zevental van de Falla kwamen voorbij als bekoorlijke oorstrelertjes, als klankgeworden blaadjes uit een heel fraai poëzie-album. (met Miranda van Kralingen – sopraan)

Remco de Haan en Erik Westerhof legden in hun bewerkingen van McLaughlin veel inventiviteit aan de dag en kwamen af en toe tot regelrecht muzikaal spektakel in de wervelende afwisseling van virtuose soli, swingende stukken en grillige ritmiek. Het duo buit in een bewonderenswaardige eenheid de klankmogelijkheden van muzikale lijnen uit met een schijnbare vanzelfsprekendheid die grote indruk maakt.
